Apache is committed to ensuring that the management of the environment, and the safety of its operations, employees and the local community, is of the highest standard, and the proposed development will be subject to environmental assessment under Commonwealth environmental laws.
The company is also committed to consulting and communicating with the local community to ensure that community concerns are incorporated into the design of the project and its proposed activities are known and understood.
In April, 2006, it instigated meetings and briefings of individuals and groups in Perth and Exmouth likely to have an interest in the proposed Van Gogh Oil Field Development.
It has also established Stakeholder Consultation Groups (SCG) in both Exmouth and Perth to ensure there is effective and timely flow of information between Apache and stakeholders.
